A question specifically for other Canadian customers re: handling monthly payroll reporting tied to Long Service and Retirement $/point awards - thanks very kindly in advance for any thoughts shared - greatly appreciated!
CONTEXT:
We will be moving to a structure in our Long Service and, potentially, Retirement awards that could see our employees exceed the annual limits for one or both buckets set out by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
Our challenge has been how to get the data we need from Awardco to accurately reflect the reporting requirements noted above, ideally, without requiring a heavy analytical lift on our part. While there are a handful of reports that contain some of the information we require, most are redemption vs issuance based. The redemption reports available require some Excel "gymnastics" and assumptions to generate any monthly overages on a per employee basis to support Payroll and the single issuance based report doesn't account for the full point award in all cases limiting it's usefulness.
I'd greatly welcome any comments/suggestions from our Canadian peers in the community that would be willing to share how they are handling CRA/Payroll reporting when the current 2 x $500.00 bucket limits may be exceeded.
