How do companies handle terminations & unspent points? Specifically with RIFs/Furloughs?
We have recently made a change in our philosophy that our terminations must use their points prior to exiting or they lose their points, this is due to the feasibility of administration and hesitation of our employee population to enter their personal email addresses into the Awardco platform for the auto-redemption giftcard feature. Is this a common experience among other clients?
Additionally, for those clients who also participate in a use-it-or-lose-it philosophy, do you have any special treatment for employees who are part of Reduction in Force/Furloughs? Overall, we want to make a positive experience for these employees, especially due to the sensitivity of the exit, but this also creates concern around how to avoid manual administration (e.g., providing temporary login to redeem points). Do any other companies have a solution to this?
