Here’s how you can make recognition more impactful:
📝 Create a Recognition Framework
- Use Acronyms or Guides: For example, PMG’s KUDOS framework (Kind, Unique, Detailed, Our Values, Sincere) provides clear direction for writing meaningful recognition messages.
- Tailor to Your Culture: Use the Formalize a Recognition Framework worksheet to design a custom guide that reflects your organization’s goals and values.
📚 Make It Accessible
Ensure employees can easily find and understand your recognition framework by updating the Learn More and FAQ sections in your recognition programs.
Add a "Learn More" Link
The Learn More section is easy to update!
- Navigate to the Admin section in Awardco and click on Settings > Recognition Programs.
- Select the program you’d like to edit.
- In the General page, find the “Learn More” Link Message field and add your framework or guidance for recognition.
- Save changes to make it visible to employees during recognition submissions.
Note: In order for the Learn More link to display in the recognition form, ensure that you’ve also updated the program description.
Utilize the FAQ Section
The FAQ feature offers another layer of guidance but requires HTML knowledge to fully utilize:
- In the same Recognition Programs area, locate the FAQ section.
- Click Edit to modify the content displayed in the FAQ link pop-up.
- Use the HTML editor to add program guidelines, images, PDFs, or other resources. (seek guidance if you’re not familiar with HTML).
- Save your changes to enable the FAQ link on the recognition submission page.
💬 Refine Recognition Prompts
Replace generic prompts like “Reason for recognition” with specific questions:
- “How has this person gone above and beyond to help you succeed?”
- “What did this person do to embody our core values?”
To update prompts:
- Go to the Questions tab in your recognition program settings.
- Click Edit on the “Reason for recognition” field and enter your custom prompt.
- Save changes to streamline and personalize the recognition experience.
