Are your managers and employees sometimes unsure of the right point amount to give in a recognition award? Do you want to ensure your awards are consistent and equitable across your organization?
This week’s tip is all about a quick win in your program settings: Award Presets.
Recognition presets are predefined point values (like $10, $25, $50, or Bronze, Silver, Gold) that users can choose from when giving an award. They transform an open-ended question ("How many points?") into an easy choice from your curated list.
🚀 Why Presets are Your Program’s Best Friend
- Remove the Guesswork: Presets eliminate decision fatigue. Users are much more likely to complete a recognition when they don't have to pause and deliberate over the exact point value.
- Ensure Consistency: By defining a standard set of award tiers, you ensure that a "job well done" in one department is recognized with a similar value as a "job well done" in another. This reinforces the integrity of your recognition budget.
- Set the Stage for the Giving Guide: Having presets configured is the mandatory first step to utilizing our exciting upcoming feature: the Giving Guide! This powerful tool builds on your presets to recommend the perfect award amount based on specific criteria you define.
How to Configure Your Award Presets ✅
You can set up presets for any of your recognition programs right now!
- Navigate to the Admin Portal and click on Programs > Recognition Programs.
- Select the program you wish to update.
- Click the Points tab.
- In the Presets section, enter a descriptive Preset label (e.g., "Small Thanks," "Team Impact," "Major Achievement") and the equivalent Award Value in Points or local currency.
- 💡 Pro-Tip: It is highly recommended to have at least two active presets in a program to standardize the giving experience and to enable future features like the Giving Guide.
- Click Save Changes.
By taking a few minutes to set up clear presets, you immediately simplify the recognition process and bring more structure to your programs. Give your team the gift of clarity!
